Ganondorf's New Groove
Okay guys, here’s my big plan for the Ganondorf death thing. It’s all under the cut.
On the fourteenth, Ganondorf will be returned to Luceti after he was immediately kidnapped upon his return from the draft. Although they returned him in more or less the way they found him, their experiments on him were humiliating and he was punished severely for an escape attempt he made during this time. He’ll spend a short time brooding at his house by the lake before coming up with a method of revenge. If he can’t pay back the Malnosso, then he can ruin their research by robbing them of their favorite lab rats for one week. He’ll simply find a way to wipe out all of Luceti.
Luceti is full of powerful folk though, so he can’t just go into town and kill people left and right, since that would work for all of five minutes. So rather than that, he’ll be preparing some distractions:
Monster-animals - Ganondorf is short on monsters to do his bidding, so he’ll have to settle for magiking up some animals. He’ll be going for animals that are already dangerous (snakes, wolves, bears, rams, cougars, spiders, coyotes, bucks, etc) and making them bigger, stronger, more durable, and deadlier. In typical Zelda style, they are color coded for your convenience (in effect being either entirely red or blue)! Red colored animals aren’t much stronger than they are ordinarily, but blue-colored ones are dangerous enough to be compared to the kind of generic monsters you get towards the end of RPGs. Killing them is the easiest way to get rid of them, but detaining them will work too, as they will revert to normal when Ganon is killed or if your character has some kind of magic to fix them. If your character has a cool pet that you’d like to offer up for this, lemme know and I can include them too. Savage Pokemon, anyone? (Just remember, animals and pets don’t come back, so it’s good to keep that in mind.)
Stalfos-Animals - Similar to the above, only these animals will be the animated bones of dead animals. They can be sort of hodge podged and reorganized into more humanoid shapes if you fancy.
Brainwashed Minions - If your character is easily mind controlled, weak-minded, or has inclinations to evil? Then we can work out something to have them be controlled by Ganondorf to attack other villagers. Like with the animals, they can either be killed or detained. If you want to do that, let me know and we can work out the details, then you can work things out with your CR in turn. He already has Richard Sharpe as a loyal henchman and given their history, Sharpe is someone that may be commanding some of the monsters as well as brainwashed minions. There will be a thread on the post for discussing that too.
In the meantime, Ganondorf will be erecting a tower of stone via magic in the center of the forest. While he’s up there, he’ll be concentrating his efforts to make his magic stronger in the hopes of being able to come up with something that will wipe everyone out at once. Naturally, he won’t even get close, because someone will find him, scale his tower filled with with the above homemade monsters, and go beat him the hell up. Probably with some kind of heroic speech.
In any case, Ganondorf is a pretty powerful guy, what with him being end boss material and wielding godlike power. He’s certainly not the toughest guy in Luceti though. So if you’re playing a character that’s a lot more powerful than him, it might be best to have them deal with the other problems he’ll be leaving around Luceti, otherwise it will make for a boring fight if Ganondorf gets curb stomped by one person. Personally, I think the best fights are the ones where the heroes have to struggle to win, because it makes for a much more powerful victory to narrowly beat the bad guy by the very skin of your teeth. That’s the kind of scenario I’m hoping to provide. So if that’s your cup of tea, then please read on!
I’m going to divide this up into three stages of battle for characters who will be able to fight Ganondorf and beat him. After each stage, he’ll make his escape and move on, where some more people will be able to beat up on him some more, up until his last form.
First Stage - Magician - 3 combatants
Location: On top of Ganon’s Tower (center of the forest)
Ganon’s preferred tactic is slinging around magic in battle against common foes who he doesn’t waste his time drawing his sword for. In canon we usually just see him taking on one person because that’s the nature of the series. But for examples of this kind of battle, here’s some videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHn7eli6uic
http://youtu.be/-yh1g9B_eBY?t=1m55s
http://youtu.be/DhIqGv_1z5I?t=4m34s (here he’s possessing Zelda, but same deal)
In these types of battles, he floats around using levitation and makes himself a moving target that’s difficult to hit. He protects himself with a magical barrier that electrocutes anyone who touches him, so hitting him with a sword is risky, since it does more damage to the attacker than to him. Primarily he prefers to use electric-based attacks to deal damage, though he is capable of throwing around fire as well. In-game the way to defeat him is to turn his own magic against him, which will disrupt his electrical shield and make him vulnerable to attack. Usually only a divine weapon can accomplish this, but a straight out magical duel could be an option too.
--
After taking a lot of damage, he’ll use a spell to teleport himself away, collapsing his tower at the same time and thus forcing those inside to make an escape. How dramatic you want this to be is up to you. (So if you play a character who could simply fly away, there could be a barrier erected to force them to flee the tower on foot, if that’s what you want to play.)
Second Stage - Monster - 3 combatants
Location: In the farmlands
Rather than his Twilight boar form, Ganondorf will be taking on the form of the great beast seen in the end of Ocarina of Time (and thus more similar to his pig Ganon forms from the rest of the series). He looks like this, a twenty foot tall monstrosity of incredible strength. Here he’ll be relying on primarily brute strength, as this form is fueled by rage rather than reason. Rather than his tail being his weak point, he’ll maintain the wound in his chest, a strangely glowing scar from when he was impaled by the Sage’s Sword.
Video: http://youtu.be/cFHT4Y6-UMk?t=49s
At this stage of the fight, any kind of fighters can do, though they’ll either need to be swift enough to dodge his lethal blows or strong enough to recover from them.
--
After this battle, Ganondorf will revert to his normal form. His horse will rescue him and carry him to safety before he can be finished off. He’ll set the fields on fire as he escapes, providing a distraction for the good minded heroes who feel it might be a good idea to prevent it from spreading and hurting the farm animals.
Third Stage - Dueling 1 or 2 combatants
Location: In the mountains
By this point, Ganondorf will have sapped the majority of his magic and while his Triforce of Power will leave him strong enough to sustain a lot of blows and still keep on fighting, even if he won’t be throwing around magical spells anymore. He’s on his last leg at this point and just needs finished off. A sufficiently magical weapon should work here, though other options could work too. In Twilight Princess, his manner of fighting is pretty slow and methodical, but in Wind Waker it’s quicker and much more fierce. Depending on who he ends up fighting, I’ll pick a style that makes the battle more interesting.
http://youtu.be/Bx0Yfg6EasQ?t=45s (Twilight Princess)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_yXb6rLHJg (The Wind Waker)
I’m mainly interested in one combatant for him to duel with who would, of course, be wielding a sword. Two combatants could be cool if it’s two players wanting to team up, with one of them playing a support role.
--
These are battles plotted out for Ganondorf being defeated in three stages. If you want to battle Ganondorf before or in between any of these stages, we can work something out, just as long as you’re cool with it being a stalemate or your character getting defeated. If you want him to kill your character, we can do that as well. If that’s what you’re keen for, just comment and we can talk out some kind of plan.
For picking who will do what, I’ll be using RNG. But since some of these will be four-people threads, I really urge you to not sign up if you don’t think you can at least manage 1-2 tags a day. It would be unfair to hold up everyone involved if you’re going to be too busy to tag in on your turns.
Also! If anyone has any kind of special items that would boost Ganondorf’s power temporarily, it’d be awesome to plot him stealing it. They’d be able to reclaim it after he’s dead, but it would allow for more epic battles and letting him get away with a bit more. So if you wanna toss something like that in, let me know and we’ll work it in.
As said before, this plot will end with Ganon dying and he will not come back, due to being dropped. So this as close to perma-death as we get without involving the third party being involved.
For those not participating in the plot, the monsters will mostly be outside the village. Some may go inside and cause trouble, but by and large they’ll be in other places trying to pick off people who are alone. In which case, people can go on about their normal business without looking out of place for not responding to the big crisis. In game time, it’ll probably last no longer than two hours (though he will take longer beforehand getting prepared).
I will post a log for this on the 13th, though it will take place on the 14th. Below I have some sub-threads for signing up for each phase and volunteering characters or pets to be possessed. Otherwise we can use the rest of the post to plot amongst each other.

SIGNUP
no subject
Abilities: Heightened strength, speed, and endurance, and a sword that can take ten different forms, including a holy sword that can dispel evil.
Position Desired: Duel, but anything's okay to me.
no subject
Abilities: Amazing archer capable of targeting a squirrel's eye. Also some minor skills with a knife.
Position Desired: Considering that I would probably only be able to manage one-three tags a day giving end of the semester, please only consider me if you don't have enough others sign-up. As much as I'd love Katniss to be involved in fighting Ganondorf because of his control over Sharpe, I ought to be putting school first when this plot goes down. >> That said, I'd take anything that'd be good for a sharpshooter.
Re: SIGNUP
Abilities: Through the Force he possesses superhuman strength, speed and agility, battle precognition, as well as incredible skill with a lightsaber.
Position Desired: Monster. Luke runs the farm and while nothing has been planted there yet the animals are his responsibility.
no subject
Abilities: The long version The short version is that he's fast, strong, and does have a divine weapon with an interesting ability of being able to cut through anything, including unbreakable magical barriers.
Position Desired: I'll take any, but considering his weapon's abilities, magician likely would be where he'd be the most helpful.
And considering that yeah, on hiatus, I will make an effort to get tags in a timely manner since I did express interest previously, I'm actually hoping that by the end of this week things will be more stable for me and I won't need the full amount of time I said I may need.
Re: SIGNUP
Abilities: All the magic ever. And stabbing. A lot of stabbing.
Position Desired: So I'm thinking it'd probably be best for Loki and Ganon to go one on one. Here's my idea on that - magic duel of some sort. While Loki is distracted slinging magic back and forth with Ganon, a minion or two could sneak up on him (since he's deaf and won't be able to hear them coming) and take him out of commission with the ol' poisoned dagger trick or something similar. I'd really rather not have Loki killed, but perhaps they could leave him for dead? (And then his girlfriend could come rescue him is nothing else.) If Ganon's done a bit of research now, it'd even be reasonable for him to want to take Loki out, since he's one of the stronger mages around and could be a real pain in the ass if he teamed up with anyone.

Abilities: He'll be carrying his sacred tome Excalibur, but probably won't have him use it yet. (Because I'd want Ewan to bear witness.) So he'll have his other spells, Fimbulvetr, Elfire, Divine, and Thunder. And he'll have his healing staff as usual.
Position Desired: Any position is fine. I imagine a healer would come in handy in any stage of the battle.
Re: SIGNUP
Abilities:
Naoki is capable of quite a lot despite being limited. He specializes in physical attacks, but knows how to use ki to a degree and ice and electric magic. He has already taken on a great many number of fiends, like Beelzebub, the 4 Horsemen, and even the highest ranking angel, Metatron, as well as Dante from Devil May Cry. He's young and now taking lessons from Vegeta.
Position Desired: I would prefer monster since I feel the duel would be more fitting with other CR, but Naoki can do whichever one.
Also, if Ganon wants a large power boost, Naoki might be on hiatus, but the Magatama he has are all at his apartment floor. One allows one user to gain abilities similar to him, but considering is pretty much one of the key big bad, he could probably eat them all to gain a massive boost, and expect one angry Demi-Fiend to hunt him down for them. Side effects include resistances and weaknesses to certain elements, and glowing tattoos.

Abilities: Swordsmanship, minimal hand-to-hand knowledge, magic artes/spells (detailed info on these artes), endurance and strength is where he shines. Because Vesperia fails to mention much details on Dein Nomos, the impression I got with how it is treated is that it is a divine sword. Alexei's sword is a copy of Dein Nomos and shares the same properties but at an artificial level (not as powerful as the original).
Position Desired: Magician or Duel, though he can work with any stage.
no subject
Abilities: Super strong, super fast, super healing, his sword is technically a demon slaying sword, and he has satanic blue flames which can burn anything ever.
Position Desired: Monster
no subject
Abilities: Augmentations and MJOLNIR Mark IV suit of armor (superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes), knowledge of dozens of skills needed in the military including specialized areas.
Position Desired: Monster or Duel. Going to be honest, I've been a horribly slow tagger lately, but I've been thinking of one thread. One idea to put on the table, either to solve things or be completely ineffective, is that after she realizes the mess going on, she gets her sniper rifle to try to take him down. While it's a strong weapon in Halo canon, I'm not sure if it packs the same punch as a Holy Arrow in the Zelda universe.

Abilities: Control over the weather in all its forms; rain sleet hail wind snow lightning, etc etc.
Position Desired: Magician! I'm wondering if she can't turn his lightning against him since she can generate and direct her own? She'll also work well with others/in a team! (since you wanted like three volunteers for this right?) Also, she's got a motive of wanting to talk some sense into him mid-battle or something since she's, ah, spoken to him before. Among other things!

Re: SIGNUP
Abilities: A huge variety of KH magic, Flow motion (bouncing from wall to wall and using the environment to make attacks), general sword fighting skills with the keyblade, super human abilities like leaping buildings and chopping buildings in half. Also has the use of the element of light, like shooting beams of it.
Position Desired: Duel but can go for the other two as well.
MIND CONTROL
Re: MIND CONTROL
Abilities: She has control over water, either her reserve that she keeps within her body or the water around her. She also had two forms she can change into. A nearly one ton, one story tall scaled dragon or a very short, light framed water nymph. While as a dragon her control over water is weak, she's slower, but very strong. As a nymph she becomes very quick and agile and her water attacks become much stronger and she can control it even more. Details in full are in her app if anyone wants to read over it.
Anything Else: Note on her internal water reserve. If it become empty she cannot live very long outside of water. This needs to be refilled every few days when she's not using it to fight.
I'm willing to get her involved as people need. Kotetsu will be the one in the end to take her out, but I'm willing for her to fight and either run away or beat someone if she's needed to fight elsewhere.
no subject
Abilities: Over four thousand years of battle experience, Yuan fights with an huge double-bladed saber, but he could wield other swords as well. He has access to advanced lightning magic, as well as 'angelic' magic. The angelic magic is especially potent, but takes more time to cast. Thanks to his Cruxis Crystal, he has superhuman strength and superhuman senses. He can form wings from his internal mana which, you know, actually work.
Anything Else: I have no concerns, really. Come fight him, heroes!
I'm willing to go all out with this and even have him terribly wounded, if that's what it takes to stop him. I'd rather avoid killing him, because he already has one death penalty on him right now, but the option is there if absolutely necessary.

Abilities: He's a very, very strong melee fighter. He's a violent, strong fighter but just that. But then he is from a world where axes are enchanted to cut through steel like butter, you can swing a two handed axe in a circle fast enough to make a tornado, and you can create an air shockwave which can knock over trees. That sort of stuff.
Anything Else: As per my plot I was thinking he'd get in with Ganon thinking to kill him to make himself the hero later and then gets brain gooshed. I'm not sure I have a plan on how to dear with him? But I'm. Thinking I should avoid killing him. :T
Re: MIND CONTROL
Abilities: Strong wind affinity, he has the ability to jump to great heights and attack that way from the air. He's also physically tough, an experienced fighter, using spears/lances as his primary weapon.
Anything Else: He's super vulnerable to mind-control, so he makes for a really good minion when his ~dark side~ takes over! As for any outcome in fighting, I'm good with anything happening to him, including killing him if it works that way.
no subject
Abilities: Being a Wind Spirit, he has the ability to control the wind - make gales and small twisters which could lift objects that aren't too heavy or people into the air. He can also create storms too. He has a dragon form which might be fun to play with - a white and gold dragon of more Eastern design with four small feathered wings alongside his filial ones. While it doesn't change his powers at all, it does make him a lot bigger and stronger and allows him to fly, as well as attack with teeth/claws/tail.
Anything Else:
Mind-wise he's already constantly wrestling with his ancient Spirit views, betrayal from humans and other human emotions he's developed recently that he doesn't really understand, so I'm sure it wouldn't take much to manipulate his already chaotic brain. XD
No other concerns really! I would rather he wasn't killed, but I'm open to him being injured as people try to detain him.
no subject
Abilities: He's gonna wreck it! Basically the ideal brute. His fists can break down nearly anything into nothing with enough pnchings.
Anything Else: As the movie shows, it's relatively easy to manipulate him, so he should be fair prey for mind control (and could probably seek Ganondorf out when things start going south to try to reason with him video game baddie to baddie as the catalyst for this). Preferably he shouldn't be killed, though.

About the farmlands
Would it be at all possible to have some other mode of distraction when Ganondorf flees the fields? Maybe setting Hamal loose on people or something? I assure you he is a very large, affectionate and distracting beast.
