Hiatus...and a player plot
...Yep, again. If I had realized how long it would take for my voice to come back (I'm still not at 100%), I would've just declared one big, long hiatus. Hindsight, unfortunately, is 20/20.
Anyway. As everyone I've been tagging with has no doubt noticed, real life--specifically, work--has been kicking my butt. This is going to continue for another week as I pull together my twice-annual student recital, and so as of this afternoon, Grune has gone on a mission, which will last until Sunday, December 9. I'll be backtagging sporadically where I can, although I don't anticipate getting to do very much.
Now, when Grune comes back, I'm going to have a little fun...which will be spoilery as hell, so anyone who doesn't want to have the ending of Tales of Legendia spoiled for them, comment here and I'll avoid you and your character(s) entirely.
So, long story short, Grune is going to be getting her memories back again. I've already done this back in March, but Grune has made a lot of friends since then, so I figure it would be fun to have a rerun of sorts.
Last time, I wrote up a huge tl;dr postand proved conclusively that I'm related to Yosie, which you're more than welcome to go ahead and check out, but I honestly don't expect it. Instead, here are the important points of what's going to happen:
1. Grune with her memories back is serious, intelligent, and perceptive--basically, outwardly, she's nothing like her usual self. However, she's still compassionate, kind, and loving; she's simply much more cautious about showing as much. Given some of the reactions she got last time, she's likely to be pretty reserved when interacting with others, at least at first. That isn't necessarily going to be how she'll continue, but it's certainly how she'll start.
2a. She's basically half of a time-and-space-travelling goddess; her opposite number and other half of her soul is called Schwartz. She's the Weaver of Time and Schwartz is the Guide to Nothingness. The reason she's an amnesiac is Melfes, the world of Tales of Legendia, was basically too "immature" to support both her and Schwartz when they arrived, and so she voluntarily placed her own power and memories under a seal to protect Melfes. I headcanon that when she isn't under the seal, her divine nature is easier to sense, so anyone who can do that sort of thing is probably going to notice.
2b. She is, however, going to be extremely closemouthed about this, because she really would prefer to pass as mortal. She won't lie if directly asked about her divine status, but she won't be happy about admitting the truth.
3. I didn't make this clear last time and thus ended up causing people undue stress--which I can't apologize enough for--so this time I really don't want to make that mistake again. People who play antagonistic characters: while Grune will be far, far more likely to catch on that something isn't right, she will not act against a character unless seriously provoked. Neither will she go about warning everyone. She will observe the hell out of your character, yes, and is likely to discuss them with one trusted person (who I haven't worked out yet or have contacted any muns about but will OOCly ensure is the sort who's equally unlikely to act), but that's about it.
4. Grune will remember everything that's happened to her so far in Luceti (like the time she caught Kain poledancing or walked in on Leonhardt changing), but will not remember what happened during this week or so once she loses her memories again. So, you know, have fun with that. :Db
If you'd like to get a sense of what she's going to be like in advance, this is a pretty good, three-minute-ish clip. More videos can be found under "Grune's Quest" here for the curious.
Finally, I'm going to try to leave as many openings as possible for people to interact with Grune in this state, because the very earliest I anticipate having her regain her memories again is well over half a year from now. However, much fewer things ping her with her memories back, and so if there's anything you want to do with her or you feel like you're not getting an opportunity for your character to interact with her, please, please PM this account or contact me on tumblr at feltelures and we can work something out. Also, don't worry about being slow or tagging in late--as anyone who's had a thread with me is no doubt aware by now, I will backtag until the end of time.
Well, that's everything! If anyone has any questions/comments/concerns, hit me up! ♥

Obviously he must see her while she has her memories so this can be commented on.

Mercifully, she wouldn't comment--but there'd probably be this one moment where she'd just kind of...look at him, because when your memory is suddenly very sharp, that sort of image is hard to forget.

Well done, Saori. XD Your more flappable friends thank you for this.no subject
Blame Adele.no subject
Hahaha! And yet, with or without her memories, Grune would give no fucks.no subject
Yep!And of course Grune and Rei need to talk. Rei'll be surprised to see Grune remembering *anything*

Saori does hope Grune isn't too hard on Helios though, she's already told Helios that if the seals on Apep weaken she has to kill him T.T (Something they may need to actually talk about)
no subject
And yeah, they're definitely going to have to have a talk about that. While Grune can certainly understand the philosophy of "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few," she'd rather Saori's first response to the seals only weakening to be something else.
(Lucky Helios--he gets a pair of goddesses arguing over him. :P Befriending the divine has its distinct drawbacks....)

Her first response, of course, is to fortify the bindings, but if that keeps weakening...
Poor guy

I have to say, I was pretty surprised when I misunderstood what you meant. Because I know that while gods often have a different view on matters than mortals, that seemed a little extreme. :D;;

I wouldn't mind Saleh interacting with her either.

So, you know, in that regard, Jay would be very useful, being an information seller and all.
Though he'd better not try charging Grune for his services. :Pno subject

and still on hiatus myselfbut I'd definitely be up for throwing Rudy at Grune once she returns. It sounds like there's lots of potentially interesting things that can come out of this!no subject
