Purposes of this post:
1) Sign-ups. Is your character a New Feather you'd like to sign up? Or did you miss the sign-ups last time? Just let me know and I'll add them to the list.
2) Hassling. It's that time again when Oswald needs to give slackers a friendly reminder. If your character hasn't been getting in touch with their penpal (no contact for, say, a month or two), please let me know! Repeat offenders will be badgered in person, first time offenders will receive a note in their journal. If your character's partner was sent home shortly after the previous IC announcement, they are exempt from hassling.

Additionally, even if letters were handwaved, I'd like to encourage participants to reply to this entry anyway. That way, partners can discuss amongst themselves what the contents of the letters were and how many were sent, and such. This sort of thing is always good to clarify.

All couples are going to get switched around again, so everyone gets a new partner. There might be an IC announcement around the start of October. Either that, or I'll put the new list up in the OOC comm and handwave that it was announced ICly.

Is it possible for him to leave anonymous letters? Or if not, is it possible to fool him into thinking it's anonymous?

Oh, that's a pretty tough question. The whole point of the project is to make friends through the letters. If you're corresponding with someone who remains anonymous, would it still have the same effect?

Most likely not, but it would make him be more honest about certain things. And characters that hate each other might find some unexpected common ground if they don't know they're talking with each other.

But if they're required to sign with their name, I'm sure I can work with that.

It's not really a requirement, it's just not something I ever considered. I think the main problem would be the announcement of the partners. How will the partner know who to address their reply to if they don't know their name, for example? And if one person is allowed to be signed up as 'anonymous', other characters might want that and we'd eventually get 'anonymous 1', 'anonymous 2', etc.

If you've got any plans on how to make it work, though, I'd love to hear about it!

I agree that if we got anon1 and anon 2 and anon 3 etc, that would become a problem.

Maybe stupid nicknames? Like in chat rooms. It could have been entertaining if someone chose their names for them, too, because I imagine a lot of them would be indignant about cutesy or funny names. ETA: and I would like it if their real names would be revealed after a month or two, complete anonymity is boring.

But honestly, I'm okay with him signing his real name. It was just an idea I had.

Well, Gregor signed himself up under a fake name, but now that I think about it, that technically shouldn't work. The moment someone tries to contact "Greg Bleakman", the journals would go 'nope, does not exist' and his corresponding penpal would have a problem. But it's too late to retcon that, now.

Let's just go with the real name, hahaha.

Damn, I didn't think about that! For some reason I thought they were writing real letters, not journal posts. But okay, in that case real names it is!

They can write real letters, if they want. But I allowed the journal system (which also includes voice/video), for more freedom. Characters wouldn't even have to leave their house to contact their penpal.

I'm so glad I asked you about this before I let Tsuzuki contacted his penpal. It's a good idea for them to use their journal,s I think. It's convenient and it doesn't take a lot of time for them. Writing a real letter would take more effort.

And also, I think this project is a good idea. We always need some more unexpected CR in Luceti.
