Magic things!

For those of you with characters involved with the school, I have some questions in regard to magic classes. Basically trying to survey how characters are doing with the spirits if that is their interest, and providing a place where you might want to keep a reference for yourselves in that matter as well! Since it doesn't often get talked about, it's difficult for me to gauge just how things are being used and what the true interest level is. Please answer when you can!
Again - magic classes are optional for students, and people who aren't officially students are welcome to pop in and seek advice, which likely can get easier with most classes taking place at the battle dome (at least during the winter months). If your character has come in for advice at some point, even if it was handwaved - which most things are - you're welcome to respond as well. Of course the actual contacting of the spirits is done on the student/interested characters own time, but that's why the teachers are there to provide advice and later on help guide them through the basic steps (if they are able to contact the spirit, they just might have difficulty and that's pretty much expected anyway!) to some more advanced techniques the spirits might not teach, especially if [the prospective user] isn't used to it.
