That massive Tales of RPG plot expansion

Calling all muns with Tales of Chars! Since there were a number of people that expressed interest in seeing an epic all the Tales Heroes vs all the Tales Villains, I figured we can go on ahead and expand on how we want this to play out and organize things a little more in this entry.


This is the list of characters who have already expressed interest in taking part. I'm pulling this list off from the two threads that were started in the event announcement.

I'm going to add four different sections for us to plot in, so please hold your comments until they're up. There will be one for Sign Ups if there are other Tales of players who want to join, one to talk about the overall plot, one for the heroes to plot in and another for the villains to plot. Basically the, what is everyone's roles entry and how things play out |D. And I guess I can put up a misc section for other topics.

Hi, I have not taken the time to figure out what she will be doing yet, other than vaguely pondering class (thief would be funny). I don't even know whether I'd toss her on heroes or villains. (Honestly, her role would technically be best suited to standing in for every NPC at the same time and having to dash around filling them all in, but idk.)

So, yeah. I will be thinking on this.

This is me doing some really late signing up and asking - which does the party need more? A Monk or a White Mage?

Overall Plot

Basically what is going to be our main plot? What are the heroes stopping the villains from doing?

I was thinking about having one of the villains pose as an NPC good guy who sends the hero party missions and updates, only the villain is leading them into a trap. Something to start things up?

It should clearly be an amalgamation of every Tales villain's goals at once. The final boss should take quotes from every Tales final boss's final speech and string them all together. Sense-making optional.

Apparently we've got like nothing, so let's sum up what we've got so far and come up with something \o/

Dhaos and Mithos dislike humans. Unsurprising. Problem: humans on team. XD In need of unifying force of some sort. Dhaos can tolerate anyone who shares his goals, though he'll probably be mistrustful, but obviously I can't speak for Mithos.

Whoever is in charge, Mithos wants their spot. Spiteful little brat 8| Dhaos could totally be the leader, but nothing is certain until everyone chimes in. Thoughts?

Alexei is the General, with Schwann as his Lieutenant, so to speak.

Richard will betray the villains and be redeemed by the Power of Friendship or something like that. This is Tales what did you expect.

Yuan is the Gadgeteer Genius, except not because that's Dist, and is miffed for it. Needz moar Disto up in this post. He also hates Mithos 8|

Grune is Grune and wuvs Dhaos enough to follow him to the dark side, though I'm guessing the cookies helped.

Since the basis of the villains' nefarious plot can't be DESTROY ALL HUMANS by virtue of there being humans in the group, maybe they could... just be general Social Justice Warriors with a touch of Personal Goals? The good thing about this is that most Tales villains share the distinction of meaning well for the world, even while completely insane, so this can't be that hard. XD Maybe they... think everyone in Luceti is too complacent and want to force everyone to TRY HARDER to breach the barrier and overthrow the Malnosso or something. Ideas? >>

As far as the Things Happening sort of plot, so far we've got Schwann betraying the heroes and Richard betraying the villains, possibly with Alexei pretending to be a friendly NPC. And that's about it. Who wins? Will people die? Will the villains see the error of their ways? Can this Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny get any more awesome? S'ALL UP TO YOU.

Re: Overall Plot

-Alexei gathers the party together to go on a mission to take out some suspicious people. They turn out to be monsters who had been affected by the cannon.
-Maybe confront a generic general boss here.
-Luca will be kidnapped during this event by a masked figure(Richard) to be used in some research towards using the cannon.
-Party members decide to stick together to go and rescue him.
-They confront the Masked Figure and fight him right before rescuing Luca (?)
-Heroes discover the cannon, but is forced back after Mithos kicks their asses. Dhaos makes his presence known here, revealing of the main boss and then brings Mithos and the masked Figure back.
-Using the power of friendship they get back on their feet and make the second journey to stop the villains from firing that cannon.
-Alexei starts sending his army minions to slow the heroes down.
-Confront another boss on the journey (?)
-At the base they will confront a revealed Richard who is weakened from the previous fight. They fight again, but Richard is convinced by Asbel's power of friendship and joins the good guys. Both Alexei and Schwann reveal themselves soon after. Raven's betrayal here.
-The cannon is stopped after/during a boss battle with Yuan and Dist (?)
-A third location?
-Grune manipulates the party members throughout the dungeon?
-Round two with Mithos at the entrance.
-Final boss is Dhaos and Grune (?)

FRIENDSHIP Zone--I mean Heroes Team

What are your party member's class? Goals? Inner relations with party members, etc. All that lovely stuff.

Cheria's 'Class' would be the Best Friend White Mage, I think. Is that what the class means? Eh, well. That. She's pretty much in charge of all the big healspamming.

Goals: Finding True love Helping others. She is one of those kindhearted maidens who reaches out to everyone in need. And I mean eeeveryone.

Relationships with other party members: Well, she has a crush on Asbel and is probably friends with Richard, but everything else is up in the air. I think this is something to be discussed mun-to-mun, so just reply here and we can agree on some wonderfully dynamic relationship.

Is that everything?

Asbel is, of course, the Protagonist Knight of team, unless someone else really wants the leader of the title. HE WILL PROTECT EVERYONE!

Goals: His goal is to protect everyone, so when a team of villains steps up to threaten the safety of the world, he naturally steps up to find a way to stop them. Assumedly, he's not the only one who decides to do so. GOTTA SAVE THE WORLD!

Relationships: Well, he's an old friend of Cheria's (who has a crush on him), and Richard is his best friend who fell to the darkness at some point I guess. Besides that, he should know Tear as well, given their experiences in the past. What kind of relationship they have now, I'm not sure. Anything else is up in the air, so we can try and figure something out.

Emil will be a Beastmaster, much like in canon. I figure he'd sort of be the lone wolf type who lives happily in the forest with his animal buddies until the threat to the world arises, in which case he's going to want to stop it.

He won't know any of the party members before joining up with them, but he'll probably get along with the group pretty well because it's Emil. His goal will obviously be to protect the world and the forest that he lives in HE'S KIND OF A HIPPIE TREE-HUGGER OKAY.

Luca is a princess who's getting kidnapped this event by the villains KNIGHT. His goal is to defeat evil or.... well, he doesn't want people to get hurt, especially his friends, so he'll do all that he can to protect them. Standard knight stuff.

As far as inner relations go his bff is Spada and everyone else is up in the air, let's make some magic okay.

For the record, Fenimore is going to be temporarily gaining the skill of a Black Mage, because they are low on those since they have at least two (presumably three with Spada) physical fighters, a healer, and a beast-dude.

Goals: Initially curiosity, eventually possibly "Grune, Dhaos, what the heck are you doing?"

Relationships: ...? Let us find out!

Role: Fighting Cheria for the role of token tsundere.

Basically the same thing with the heroes. What is everyone's position, objectives, how to torment the heroes. Fun stuff.

Grune's position is pretty much "I'M GOING TO HELP DHAOS! 8D" XD;; Heroes will find her (as usual) very sympathetic and willing to help out, but...her number one loyalties lie with him, so in a conflict of interests, Dhaos wins.

As for objectives, uh, see above.

tl;dr I'm thinking of a Legretta-like role for her on this one.

OH YEAH class. Uh. Oh, what the hell--evil dancers are like nonexistent but DAMMIT I WANT ONE. So yes. Grune the villain dancer is now going to be a thing. :|b

Isamu will be playing villain alongside Richard, I believe. A sort of bad influence.

Well, Raven is going to betray the Heroes Team towards the end and join the villains, mostly because this event is going to mess with his head. Since he's canonicly "The character who is actually a spy for the bad guys but will instantly switch to your side when you find out about it.", but without BV he doesn't have a side to switch back to so to speak.

But he still hates you :| He's just being a tool again. He'll promptly regret everything post event because he will have let his friends down.

In terms of class for Raven he's a "Ranger", for Schwann he's a "Dark Knight" (including the weakness to ladies). He's not betraying because he wants to! I'd be willing to have him killed against the party etc.

Mithos will be a Black Mage, but I'm not sure what his position would be in the group... He's.....that guy who lusts for the top spot but nobody really takes him seriously because he looks like a girl and acts like a kid throwing a continuous temper tantrum. 8|a

His objective is basically to systematically cleanse Luceti of filth, especially of the human variety. Very few are exempt. He just wants a nice, peaceful world for him and his sister okay.

Also, because he still can't walk properly but crutches are so not cool and villainy...he will be relying on his noble steed Noishe (permission received!). Yes, it will look ridiculous. Ridiculously awesome.

Yuan is kind of a Mad Scientist type, but if Dist is also a Mad Scientist, then Yuan is likely second-place to him. Because, let's face it, Dist's technological skills beat Yuan's by a long shot. So yeah, he'd be butthurt about that.

Also, despite being teammates, he hates Mithos with a burning passion. There must always be some internal strife, y/y?

If he's sent out to fight the heroes, he will do it himself rather than sending robots to do it for him. He's probably got a few gadgets up his sleeve to try and turn the battle in his favor, though.

I will likely have Alexei play the General role as he's pro at bossing around minions. Doubt he'd have an lust for the top as long as he gets to do what he wants.

He'll have Schwann has his right hand man and sending him as the spy to the heroes. That's all I know. Thought about Alexei possibly playing the NPC good guy role at first, sending orders to the heroes about bad stuff going on when he's really helping villain side and luring them into a trap.

Since you know, in his canon he was viewed as a decent guy until BIG REVEAL. And there's no one from Vesperia to say he's bad news now outside of Raven. But yea, that's my two cents.

It's a tossup between Insane Time Paradox Dhaos or Demon King Dhaos, though I feel more comfortable with the latter.

Demon King Dhaos doesn't have a motive here in Luceti yet, derp >> But he hates and distrusts humans, and believes that they need to go. As per usual. He's your jaded and embittered and BOI I SEEN TOO MUCH villain who'll go on giant rants about how much humans suck and such. Can't say much more without knowing what exactly he's fighting for >> But he'll definitely be of questionable sanity, mmyes.

Insane Time Paradox Dhaos is basically a crazy insane person who cannot be talked down except with outright WE CAN SAVE DERRIS-KHARLAN and just wants all humans dead even if it would be counterproductive, nothing special there XD Warning, this could result in an awful lot of lasers.

Dhaos will be a black mage, of course. XD What position he takes in the team... He'd be best suited for a leader role, but given that this is an RP I think we'd better vote on the leader if we even want one, LOL.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to withdraw Noelle from this. An allergy/chest bug knocked me off my feet this past weekend and long story short now I don't have time where I thought I did.

Just commenting here to say - all my characters except for Molly will be NPCs. It just seemed to make sense, especially for Rogue, who runs the Item Shop. So if you need an NPC to point you on a QUEST, lemme know!
