So who's up for an infectious player plot...

There's been talk here and there, and now that I've got the clear here's a player plot for you guys to enjoy! Introducing something a little darker than what's been going on recently, a little evil and devious, a force resurfacing for revenge...

What's the backstory here?

Long ago, Vegeta's father King Vegeta and a large number of his Saiyan warriors landed on the Tuffle homeworld, destroying it and committed genocide against the Tuffle race. However, Tuffle scientists managed to create a parasitic organism fused with the cells of the king of the Tuffle homeworld. It was shuttled off into space before the Saiyans could complete their destruction, with the intention that one day, their creation would seek revenge against the Saiyans for their crimes.

This creation's name is Bebi, and he made his way to Earth decades later. He has the ability to liquefy his body to enter other people's bodies, and leaves traces of his DNA inside them when he decides to leave a host. That trace of DNA becomes malignant and spreads throughout the entire body and into the brain, effectively allowing the parasite himself to control them. Bebi managed to infect the entire human race and the Saiyans on the planet at the time, and possessed Vegeta as his primary host, living inside his body. The human race became a hivemind, and every single infected person became an obedient slave to Bebi.

They of course manage to free Vegeta and cure the entire planet from the infection, using awesome Dragonball dues-ex-machina mechanics known as the Sacred Water.

Summary of what's happening:

It's a silent takeover. One by one, the citizens of Luceti are infected with Bebi's cells, which fuses with their DNA, turning them into Tuffle hybrids. They only have one goal- to force every living being to become a Tuffle, serving under their lord. His plan? Is to take to the stars and become a ruthless race of people, taking over planets and going from being the hunted to the hunters. First, Luceti, then soon the rest of the planet will succumb. And then *evil laugh* the universe.

How does it start?

Vegeta is going to be taken to be experimented on, and through DNA tests, the Malnosso will find traces of dormant Tuffle DNA from when Bebi had lived inside his body that haven't been eliminated from his system yet. They decide to mess with said DNA, causing that little bit to become malignant and grow back into the organism known as Bebi, which proceeds slowly to take over Vegeta's body again.

Of course, Bebi Vegeta will be the source of the infection and will try to spread it to as many as he can. Any random person he talks to will be subject to his efforts to try to infect. This will probably be handwaved, because people can of course choose if they'll be infected or not to start. Those successfully infected will go on to try to infect more people on their own. Bebi will be available to thread with either way, and I’ll be putting up a top level comment for him for anyone who wants to thead this out/just wants to talk to him.

Okay, so my character is a Tuffle. What now?

Glad you asked! They act exactly like their normal selves. With other infected, they are literally no different than what they are normally. It does not change their personality at all save for one thing. How they behave with the uninfected, aka their targets, they still act normal- but when it's discovered that they might be acting a little strange, they start to become more vicious in nature. They of course, don't think anything is wrong, but they do believe that everyone should want to become part of the whole, serving their Lord Bebi.

But, because of the meddling of the Malnosso with the DNA, it's given the infected special abilities, stemming off of Bebi's own abilities. You can choose for your character to have one of the following:

•The ability to infect other characters through liquefied Tuffle DNA, created through the skin
•Enhanced strength and speed, just a bit stronger than they normally are.
•Energy abilities ranging to as weak as a taser to as powerful as a blast to knock someone flat on their back, but this is very tiring to do and takes a lot of effort to perform for a more powerful technique.

Of course, as outlined above, their primary goal is to infect more people with the DNA. How you do that is totally up to you. Plant something in their cereal, get at them through a cut on their arm, tag team with each other or bring them to your Tuffle brothers and sisters by abduction to infect; anything your character can do to get it in their bloodstream. Be sneaky or be upfront. Of course, if it gets rated R, it'll need to go to an appointments post.

Once a player character is infected, they'll experience cold like symptoms to a high fever for a day before they are enslaved, giving the illusion that it's merely the flu or some other minor sickness going around.

-Tuffles will also be gathering to do what they can to start developing a machine to make their DNA airborne. Non-infected maybe be infiltrating their gathering spot, and who knows how they're going to get in. I'd ask if someone would like to offer their building/business/etc for this, otherwise it will be held in Wind Building Floor 6.

-They'll also be abducting Lucetians and dragging them to the tunnels for holding, at least those who cannot infect people themselves. And of course, that means their friends are going to try to rescue them, so be ready. Hopefully you can identify the enemy before they sneak in under your nose or kick you to the curb. Either way, don't let them take your prize away from you; Lord Bebi won't like that one bit.

Or really, whatever your little hearts desire.

My character isn't infected. What do?

Good question. It's your guys's job to try to stop the Tuffles from infecting any more people than they already have. They're stronger and faster now, and they aren't just bent on taking Luceti alone. And they have plans to help Bebi spread his influence faster than he already is.

-Some Tuffles are gathering to try to create a machine that would let the Tuffle DNA become airborne, giving them the ability to spread much easier and faster. Rumor has gotten around they've gathered somewhere in the village, using it for blueprints and experiments. It needs to be infiltrated and stopped, but other Lucetians are up there who are infected- and they'll fight back. Force your way in or stealth, use your charisma or your muscles, it's up to you.

-Abductions are happening, and Lucetians are being dragged off to the eastern tunnels so other Tuffles with the ability to infect others can do so in a more safe setting; since the tunnels are protected with shifts to nullify the powers of anyone who enters, they can at least store these people somewhere until they finally are dragged back out later to complete the deed in a different location.

-Curing the infected is the primary goal. Canonically the Sacred Water was used to cleanse the humans from their infection. So Nala, the fillial spirit of healing is one way to go about it. Any kind of cleansing power/healing power characters have will work. Driving supernatural entities away will not work, as this is a biological problem. Medical types can also start to work on a cure themselves, as in a vaccine or something of the like. Or just getting their infected friends to someone like this.

What's happening to Bebi?

I'm taking care of that with some of Vegeta's close CR. As most know, Dragonball is a incredibly overpowered canon of big muscley men that blow up planets, so there will be a fight somewhere at the back of the enclosure far, far away from Luceti where Bebi will be beaten. His power is affected by the barrier just like everyone else's, so there is no superpowered baddie that defies the laws of barrier physics (because he's already superpowered as it is.) The fight itself will be handwaved, to keep things simple.

Bebi's dead! Does that end the event?

No. Destroying Bebi does not automatically cure the residents, as the DNA is still active in their bodies. They still have to be dealt with on an individual basis for the remainder of the week, but eventually the cells inside will die due to the experiments performed on the Tuffle DNA originally by the Malnosso. Without the main parasite, the drones will die out if nothing is done to cure them. However, this will not be IC'ly known, not even to Bebi himself. But everyone will return to normal, eventually.

When does it start and how long does this last?

It will last a week, a log going up and starting on Tuesday, May 6th and lasting until Monday, May 12th.

What happens once my character is cured?

Characters will feel tired, worn out and drained as if they were recovering from a sickness, if you so choose. Also, they will have no recollection at all of the events that happen while they were possessed. If other characters tell them of what happened, you do have the option of having your character remember what they did while infected. Some will still be unable to remember, where others may regain some vague memories of their actions.

Opt-out:

Due to the nature of the infected being exactly who they are normally anyway, they may not find an opportune moment to try to attack their victims. It's quite possible that your character can go the entire week without meeting someone infected, or they just didn't get the chance to get at your character. Ignorance is bliss, right?

Also, you guys can use this post to plot! Go nuts!
