Concerning 4th Wall

This is just a kinda quick heads up/fyi about the upcoming 4th Wall event we're having. I'll be bringing in Amaterasu from Okami so I just wanted to put this out here and kind of get a head count going before tagging begins.

So yeah, there's the thing. Ammy is a goddess. However! The red markings and divine instrument (the reflector in that picture) are not normally visible to people that:

a.) Don't know she's a goddess.
b.) Don't believe in her.
c.) Don't really believe in the supernatural/gods in general.

It's actually more common in Okami itself that more people can't see her "true form" than those who can, so I just wanted to know who would and would not be able to. She herself won't care either way, to be honest, but I just want to have some sort of consistency. Basically those who would be able to see her include the following:

a.) Those who believe in her.
b.) Those who have learned about her from and outside source and know she's a goddess (you probably will only see very faint red smudges in her fur depending on how much you know/heard/believe).
c.) Those with a high spiritual affinity.
d.) Those with a kind of "sixth sense" or ability to detect the presence of something out of the ordinary.
e.) Other supernatural beings.
f.) And probably those who have met her before in Luceti!

Aaand that's about it. 8Db Just wanted to know that little detail, so yes. Just let me know if your character would be one who would or would not see her "true form". And if you would, to what degree (completely, faint red markings, markings and the shape of flames on her back, etc.).

Oh! And before I forget. Those who can't see Ammy at all will just see a plain white wolf, though her coat will be really, really clean and white and shiny.

So I'm pretty sure Grune would be able to see her markings, what with her being herself and all. Want to go with Grune seeing all her markings?

I'm actually not sure about this for Vash so I'll throw out his case and see what you think.

He doesn't really know about Ammy's story, but Luceti has gotten him to believe just about anything is possible - even gods from some worlds and he's heard Miyabi talk about her so much.

Granted, I'm not sure if he'd see a dog if he wasn't told that THAT was Ammy or if he'd see Ammy for being Ammy as he has a vague idea of who she is.

I think Vash would fall under the category of seeing only faint traces of Ammy's markings. Like, red patches in her fur where her markings would be.

Yep! It's Okami game canon that demons and ghosts and stuff like that can see and sense one another to varying degrees. Even the teeny poncles have that ability to sense good and evil presences.

Anyway, back on topic. I'm pretty sure Leo would see the markings. He's seen some pretty supernatural stuff in canon. Plus he's also rather spiritual.

I will be speaking for the Innocence cast (subsultive forgiatura fideliter ruinedhiswish immadragon ashihara) since they're all the same thing! Avatars. That is, former gods reborn as humans who have special powers granted to them due to past lives.

What I'm saying is that they ain't exactly human. They'd be able to see her true form faintly. Faint red markings at most. Lighter, smudgy, whatever you want.

Link should be able to see them faintly, I think. He has the Triforce of Courage, which is affiliated with Farore, the Goddess of Courage, so that might come under the high spiritual affinity part?

Hm, I'd say ST!Link would be able to see her. He's got some thing that lets him see spirits, so goddesses wouldn't be too far off. Not totally clear, but he'd definitely see something of the markings.

Akito and Agito probably won't see her at all, sob. What is magic and gods.

Okay not really. But yes, I honestly can't picture any Link not being able to see faint traces of Ammy's "true self". Thank you!

JAPAN'S MOMMY(sort of). Even with Japan's lack of belief in supernatural things in the modern age, Amaterasu in all her forms is still the one legend he can't let go. I don't know if he'd pick up that she's the Amaterasu (unless his fourth walling abilities are unlocked during the event) considering her wolf form, but do you think he'd be able to see her?

Oh, this is hard. Really, it's up to you since Ammy won't act any different if people see or don't see her real form other than an "ohey", buut.....maybe have it so Japan sees the red smudges of her markings? Considering he's more modern (it seems) than spiritual, I'm not really sure how much he'd be able to see.

I'm not sure about Kazooie though. Is a cartoon supernatural? :|a Because she might be able to see very faint markings, then. Kazooie is just much more accepting of the idea of gods and such in general, and is casually familiar with all sorts of oddness, so she'll have a better shot.

Lol giant. Ammy's actually not a giant wolf at all - you're probably thinking out resident Moro. Ammy's roughly the size of your standard wolf, perhaps even a few inches smaller in fact. In the eyes of your average Joe, she literally is just a plain, normal, everyday white wolf.

Hm, again this is hard to decide, and I'll leave the ultimate decision to you yourself, but if Kazooie's open to the idea of gods existing and stuff, I think she'd probably see very faint red patches on Ammy's fur.

Aqua miiiiight fall under c/d of being able to? since she's a Keyblade Master, she has a very high awareness of the light and darkness within people, can sense negativity and the feeling of something "wrong" in others, and has identified people with "strong light" with ease, which Ammy may fall under?

Oh, then I think Aqua would see Ammy quite a bit. Amaterasu is the Sun goddess, the very definition of light and warmth in her homeland (she literally has to fight off the powers of Darkness in game), so I think Aqua would see her either in full of strong red patches and the shape of her flaming mirror or something, if you prefer not to have her see Ammy in full goddess glory.

I'm not sure about Riku or Ven, but Rainbow Dash basically knows two deity like figures in her canon, and the supernatural is pretty... natural in Equestria. Not sure where that'd put her, but.

As for Riku and Ven, they've both seen so many oddities in the worlds they've encountered that I doubt they'd have trouble with the idea of a god. I mean, Riku knew a god, even if he wasn't a nice guy, and Ven's got very strong ties to the light. 8|a

I'd put Rainbow Dash in the category of seeing Ammy completely, if only because things like Unicorns, Pegasi, and other such mythical creatures are just so common in that fandom that it'd be odd for her not to be aware, methinks. The choice is ultimately up to you though, I'm just giving my own thoughts.

Ven and Riku are a liiiittle bit harder, since I'm not as familiar with their canons. I want to say Ven would see her quite a bit, but not completely, because if he's not a strong connection to light (which is basically what Amaterasu is, more or less) he'd notice her to a certain degree. Iii...honestly dunno about Riku. I'd like to discuss more, but I think he'd see her somewhat as well.

...Since she cured Derek of the infection last time he/she was here, I'd say he knows?

ETA: Also, the movie kinda dances around him being sensitive to vampires in his own canon, too, so that would probably help. Your call at any rate as to how much he cna see, and he does remember Ammy helping him (he just never got her name...)

Foot? Being a guardian spirit herself, I'd imagine she'd see Ammy straight out, no problem, just like Ammy could probably tell Foot is not a cat.

Haha, if he had a run-in like that with Ammy, I'm sure Derek knows and can see her entirely. |Db The fact that he can also sense other creatures like he can, and being a vampire (who I don't know if is sensitive to holy/"light" attuned beings?) I'd assume he would recognize her as more than just a wolf.

The choice actually yours, since it won't change how Ammy acts towards people all that much. |D She doesn't parade the fact that she's a goddess or anything.

I'd say Aether would be able to see her very clearly. As a fairy tale knight, he is highly attuned to mythical beings like Ammy and might even recognize her by name if she gives a sign of some sort.

On Ammy's side, she'll most likely smell that he's not quite human. Aether's father in his story is Ryujin, the dragon deity of the ocean from Japanese mythos. Yes, the one inside whom Ammy rampaged for a while during the game. She might also notice a very old, but still lingering scent of blood.

I'll put him under seeing strong red marks and the definition of her divine instrument, if that's okay? We can probably discuss more, since it seems Aether would see a lot of Ammy's true form, but I want your opinion. As for giving an indication of herself....she'd probably call forth the sun, being a non talker.

Oooh, that will definitely ping her, especially the scent of the Water Dragon - she'll recognize it and toootally go over to investigate after the initial baw.

Golbez, Arche and Lyn would probably all be able to see the smudges. The first two are powerful sorcerors who are half from a supernatural race, and the third is very spiritual by nature.

Neliel will almost certainly be able to see Ammy's true form. Ammy will be able to do likewise for Nel. The thing about that is, Neliel is a sort of extra-concentrated ghost, and we aren't talking the nice kind. Or rather, she herself is nice, but most Arrancar are rather malevolent by nature. It's possible Ammy would be able to smell that, I can't remember if she's an Evil Detecting Wolf or not.

And yes. Ammy would definitely be able to peg Nel as being "more than meets the eye" so to speak, but she wouldn't act on the impulse of attack. She'd probably tense at first, and wait and see what happens. In her canon she could see through a demon's ruse easily/from the start when no one else could so.

Touya is able to see his deceased mother/hear her speak/etc., and is also able to see ghosts/spirits and differentiate people from magical beings. So I think he counts...? >:

Ah, yes. Thankfully I am familiar with this fandom and know what you speak of. |D7 But yeah, I'd pretty sure Touya would be able to see Ammy to a certain degree, or even completely. He may not know what she is, but he should be able to see her with his ability. Does that sound okay?
