About the school!

Hello, Luceti! Just interrupting your new feather flow briefly to ask for your attention! --

ICly the school hasn't started up again yet, which characters should be aware of! Right now there is a lack of teachers, and while an IC post will soon be going up about this, I thought this post might help gauge/confirm interested parties in case we don't actually get to thread it out!

Once those details are settled a date for the first day of school will go out too.

Tutors/student teachers are also wanted! There are a lot of smart characters in those high level brackets, and for other characters there are bigger divides in ability. So if characters were interested in being a tutor, to a small group or even if you wanted to have assigned tutors/students for new CR opportunities, that might be fun to work out as well. And having more help gives the teachers some more free time amongst themselves as well.

The school building is open to characters who want to do extracurricular things in it -- i.e. the art club using the building during poor weather, or any other craft possibilities that characters wanted to set up, and tutoring.

lucetischool is available to use, it's a little out of date right now in terms of which students are where and the courses being taught, but you can put up info and so forth.

On that note, STUDENTS, please feel free to sign up if you're new!

*** On another note, there are a lot of activities going on that ICly could use a good place to be referenced - like the cooking lessons, art club, training school, etc, as well as the available classes. Is it possible that the characters can talk about this and get a bulletin board of sorts going?

By that bottom note there, are you talking about a log of some sort or something decided on OOCly and posted about ICly by someone? I mean, the training school hasn't been officially brought up as existing again just yet (at worst, that'll happen on Friday), but some kind of IC bulletin would be pretty cool.

I wasn't sure if it was brought up ICly yet, sorry! But yeah I meant in the general sense of people OOCly and ICly not having an awareness of things existing, this might be a good way to gather it (OOCly) in a good place for a list to "ICly" have a place where characters can basically go 'oh okay, if I want to train I can just find person x', and so forth. I mean, I do put these things in the guide but not everyone reads through that. If that makes sense? I wasn't the person who originally came up with the idea, so I might have presented it weirdly.

Nah, I get what you mean now. But yeah, it sounds like a good idea to me :|b ! Should help out when it comes to all the groups/clubs/lessons we've got around here - especially since there's a lot lately, it seems like.

If you need more instructors/student teachers, Riku would be willing to maybe teach KH-style magic, since it can be picked up by just about anybody. :|a

Magic is one of those weirder classes to really nail down because of the variations in definitions and what people take it to mean. But having more hands on magic that doesn't have to do with the spirits at all would be pretty neat, I think! :|b As long as he'd ICly be willing to do that sort of thing.

Mordin can teach biology and medicine if needed. He needs something to do other than studying everything.

Hmmm...I think they talked about it ICly once before, but Azusa could try to be a singing teacher? She can't deal with instruments, though, which would make her kind of an ineffective music teacher...but singing she can do!

Jack was going to do instruments like piano, so maybe they could work together?

I certainly wouldn't mind! That way, she could keep up with brigade duties, too, and come in just on like...Tuesdays or Thursdays. Splitting the work for the win?

That seems fair! Maybe they could come up with an extracurricular chorus or band type thing for performances if enough characters were interested also?

Sounds good to me! And Jack is canonically supposed to be good at singing, too, so who knows, maybe they could do duets sometimes. XD

Caesar can help out with this tutoring business, of course...! He'd prefer to have students assigned to him, rather than working with groups or anything like that. He'd be good for any of the academic subjects, so stuff like art/PE/music/magic is out. I don't think level really matters, so Raine can send whoever she wants to him!

Fighting is something that Brave Vesperia's going to handle with their training school, which hasn't been ICly brought up yet I don't think, but you can keep an eye out for that! I'm not sure what's going to go on there myself.

Konan could teach survival skills, or art classes. She wouldn't be opposed to it, but she might take a little IC nudging.

It only really works if she'd ICly express an honest interest in doing it, but it's always good to know for reference.

I think she'd be more likely to offer survival lessons on an individual basis to people she built up CR with. She did attend the art club and did a bit of elaborate origami, but I don't think it would occur to her to offer to teach art unless she started getting several requests. She did already agree to teach Rapunzel, but yes.

I could see Brennan being willing to teach as something to occupy her time, if an anthropology teacher would be wanted.

I'm trying to make the schedule a little more flexible so we can have more options, it's just a little slow going on my part. What's really needed, I think, is people being available to sub for the core classes should a teacher for those classes be unavailable. I should have noted that above.

I'll have a post going up at some point - right now the timing is starting to get fudgey on me with a couple of plot related things going on, but keep an eye out if you can!

So I know that we talked about maybe Sophie coming to school this year, but I'm not really sure it's going to happen. Pretty much, Norma is the only one out of House 34 who would remember that this was a thing, and she'd basically leave it up to Sophie. We haven't finished discussing what she'd decide just yet, but I thought I'd let you know this is where we're at for the moment.

No problem! I wish I had better IC relations with house 34 to help them realize/remember its a thing, but as I said school hasn't ICly started yet either (and students don't HAVE to start at the beginning of term considering the kind of place Luceti is), so there's still time to work things out at some point.

It's cool, don't worry. Sophie at least is getting some schooling at home in Relares from Norma and Walter, so it's not as much of a priority as it might be.
