Hi, Luceti, Dynast here with a tiny interest-gauging post!

In light of the ongoing event, I'd like to propose something a little dramatic: Fire.

It's not going to be a village-wide thing (because geez, can you imagine the chaos?) but something still somewhat dangerous during a drought-- like a house on fire, for instance. At the moment, I think a refugee-started fire would suit the situation best...unless there's a villager out there who's willing to set a house on fire.

...hey, it could happen.

Logistics-wise, an empty house close to the river would be most appropriate in view of the increased power cap (and so that even the non-magic types can have a go at helping put out the fire). I've been eyeing one of the houses around the #30, #31 block for this (avaricious, oftheyin and alkahestrykunais, I'd appreciate your feedback on this since this is literally in your characters' neighbourhood) but I'd like to gauge interest first before jumping into starting anything too damaging.

Thoughts? Would you participate in this if it goes up?

Funny enough, I have a smal player plot I'm planning for Cloche here that will involve stuff catching fire through her. I was gunning for this weekend for it as well.

Seconding this as an ideal thing. Immediately post event cloche-caused fire stuff so we don't have more on the NPCs.

I don't see how we can't have both a player plot and have it be part of the event plot, though. Both are pretty different things.

NPCs are going to trigger the player plot, so it's pretty much Event -> Player Plot, if that clears things up?

I don't remember if it was mentioned in the link I gave you down a couple threads, but: tl;dr verson, Cloche isn't human, and neither are the IPD Kin'coran refugees that have been following her. Because of that, they're all connected at a subconscious level, and so when there's a huge flow of negative emotions, regardless of where they are, they can have an IPD outbreak. Since the IPDs aren't going to be happy leaving Cloche behind, angry emotions will trigger it.

I did see it wasn't quite the idea you had in mind, but for me it was perfect timing after the event. Hopefully we can compromise or just go on for separate events? Either way works for me :)

In this case, I think it might be better to go with separate events, because, like I mentioned below, the whole "feel" of the two ideas seem quite different. And that's not necessarily bad! I think it'd be fun to have two similar events but with entirely different atmospheres. ♥

Though if it helps any, I'll probably backdate my fire log to the night of the 30th. Perhaps Cloche could get a teaser of negative emotions if the IPD refugees were to see it (from a distance? Close by?) and feel anxious? It won't be enough to trigger anything off but it might be an awesome leadup to this weekend.

Oh! Man, that sounds kinda cool....

Though, to be honest, it sounds a little different from what I had in mind. I was envisioning something a little less chaotic and more community effort-like for this. Like, for instance, working together to help put out the fire, maybe even some cooperative effort from the Lucetians + refugees. Both have a certain different kind of feel to it, if you get what I mean.

I think this would be really interesting, actually. Someone setting a fire as opposed to just random fires could be cool.

I wasn't thinking of anything along the lines of arson, but when gas/electricity isn't reliable, people might be tempted to resort to using fire. And...well, accidents happen.
