It's been a long while coming, and the time has come to at last pull off the band-aid and send Kaori home. I will forever be grateful to her CR, even as they stuck around for the losing battle and I have honestly been introduced to great people and canons because of it. You are what kept her here as long as she was and I will always love what they had.
There are some trinkets left for some of her friends, and while I am willing to continue ongoing threads I hope everyone understands when I don't always reply to them right away.
Again, thank you so much for giving me the chance to play her, and if you would please:

Kaori has been such a strong presence in Mithos's life in Luceti for so long that I sometimes forget how much he's changed because of her. When he arrived in Luceti, he had nothing left to give. Robbed of all his dreams and betrayed many times over, he was firmly convinced that he could never trust anyone but himself (and by extension Martel) ever again. Kaori changed that in a matter of months. Of course he still has a long way to go, but she opened that door for him and throughout the time they've known each other, she's been a gentle reminder that not all is lost.
Weeks ago, when I knew this moment was inevitable and approaching fast, I happened to hear this song and I realized how appropriate it was for the occasion. Oh yes, I'm getting hopelessly sentimental and busting out the show tunes.
Contrary to what one may logically conclude, Mithos is obviously Glinda (because blonde and fabulous), which would make Kaori Elphaba. In this context, Elphaba's opening lines take on an additional layer of bittersweetness: I'm limited. Just look at me, I'm limited. And just look at you, you can do all I couldn't do. So now it's up to you, for both of us. Kaori is losing her chance for a better life in Luceti, leaving Mithos behind to deal with the mystery of strangely (and sometimes aggravatingly) kind humans on his own. He still has an opportunity to find happiness and peace...but we know how much he's bothered to take advantage of these opportunities so far.
Then the line Now whatever way our stories end, I know you have re-written mine by being my friend is given a grim irony, knowing that anything that happened in Luceti will have no effect on the direction of her life back in her own world. And we know how wonderfully that turns out... But at the very least, for as long as Mithos sticks around in Luceti, Kaori has re-shaped his life through the time he shared with her - and I definitely believe he's been changed for the better.
This may be the end of their story together in Luceti, but you will not get rid of me so easily. I can promise that.
