Alright, I've been leading up to this IC forever now, but this month I want it to happen for realzies.

So this is the OOC plotting post for The Unofficial but hopefully it will eventually become official Luceti Mage Group. (Better name pending.)

For those of you who aren't already aware, what's happening is this: Harry Dresden- pictured above- is organizing a meeting of Luceti's mages, spellcasters, and other magic-users and practitioners of all stripes. This includes those familiar with Filial magic, and also those who don't themselves know or use magic but are interested in studying and assisting.

The idea is that if the meeting goes well, they can organize a group, for the purposes of teaching, experimenting, and organizing projects that utilize the magic practitioners of the village. So, if you have any projects or other such magical shenanigans that you think might make for a fun plot, post 'em here!

This is my first time doing anything like this, please be gentle *Winces*

Ami'd definitely be interested! Or possibly as Mercury, but yes, she will be there.

- Might be interesting to partner up anyone new to magic (likely non-users trying to contact the filial spirits, but also possibly anyone from canon points where their powers are new?) with experienced ones. This is especially applicable for filial magic users, since a lot of people end up asking for help/advice on how to contact them. Of course, as with anything, this will be hard to organize with arrivals/drops.

- I'd like to see the magic users do something concrete for Luceti as a whole. Barriers of their own, especially bearing in mind the potential for future Third Party attacks? A repair/restoration effort in the aftermath of the recent flood?

Grune would probably wander in sporadically for meetings, but she's not exactly consistent--just ask the SOS Brigade. Still, she'd be enthusiastic and would probably be pretty good at getting new members to join. XD

Luna might be interested. She doesn't have any experience with filial magic, but she is a magic user of sorts, and I don't think it'd be unreasonable for Luna to try her hand (hoof) at advising other people/creatures with learning their own sorts of magic or trying to learn filial magic herself. (And then she just has a general interest in other magics/cultures.)

As for the joint projects idea, I've toned her powers down a bit, and her magic works best at night/during a full moon, but she's able to minimally alter local weather and can levitate/transform objects/create illusions. Ponies have also been known to create barriers (like, around a whole castle/city...though not Luna specifically).

If any of that sounds useful. I can't think of any concrete goals for the moment, though.

I know we have the airship idea (which Helios will be using the MAV to test it on since lol autoshift so if things explode...>__>;) But I've always had Helios talk to Leon about putting up barriers on buildings and stuff. Maybe even combining his gem system with his own barriers somehow. But other than that I am game for anything and everything~

He's also taught numerous people filial magic so far...so I'm sure he can lend a hand with that!

As I stated before, Leonhardt is interested, mostly because he finds the differences in magic between worlds to be very interesting.

One thing of note, the magic in his world is actually produced via technology. Basically they have a mineral that they mine and process and use it in devices that give access to what they call arts. The neat thing is this same mineral is used for the electricity in their homes, engines, etc. This could potentially be of use in some projects and he has been learning how to make such things and process the mineral as a hobby here.

Still not sure which of my boys to toss in because both would have a moderate interest now. Neither...would likely be more useful than commentary, though Lupin does want to test that magic defense circle trick he learned from Harry somehow.

It would be cool and fun in any case. This is still a fun idea.

Still volunteering to toss Pao-Lin into this. She herself is not from a magical world, but she's slowly learning the filial magic, and she's generally interested in magic both as 1) something potentially useful and 2) something that's just really fucking cool. She'd be more than willing in assisting in projects, though I don't know yet that she'd have anything of her own to offer up.

Lightning might possibly be interested, although honestly it's pretty likely someone would have to talk her into it. She's... not much like most magic-casters, however, considering she has no limit on how much she can toss out so long as she's conscious... and it was just sort of bestowed on her with the knowledge of how to do it pre-installed, so. \o_O/

She knows strategy, though, I guess?? That and she can lay out protections on people if there's a concern they might injure themselves while practicing or... something. She's also capable of making other people's magic stronger for short amounts of time. :|a

Hiro has been wanting to learn about the spirits and learn some Filial Magic, so if you guys cover that at all, he might show up. Other than that, I'm not sure what else he could do- he considers himself a normal boy with a magic-using device, not a mage. (Maybe someone could nudge him into going along anyway.)

Ondorus is one of them scholarly types, and could volunteer to keep records on all these different kinds of magic, what they draw from/what the do/how they're used/so on and so forth. He himself has a lot of technical/healing/a few combat spells that use ~earth energy~ to function.
