TOURNAMENT plot

So after checking with Akai to be sure it would be okay, I'm coming to you Luceti to tell you of a player plot I've come up with! So, first, let me ask you HOW YOU ALL WOULD FEEL ABOUT A TOURNAMENT with different categories for swords to archery to magic to marital arts? Of course there'll be a prize or two for the winner(s) chosen by a tally of points. (I don't know what the full prize will be, but I'll figure it out or something. Suggestions are helpful.)

What does this mean for now? It means I'd sort of like a count of who'd have characters who'd be interested and in what category would they enter in. Also I'd like to know which characters would volunteer to help with the set up or judge in the actual competition.

Anyway, the plan is to make this happen in early may if there's enough interest! Hopefully there is and we can have some shenanigans in the mean while with the set up and volunteer stuff.

Tournament Overview
Date: Early May, TBA.
Location: Battle Dome.
Grand Prize (for the most points): TBD + a trophy + a surprise bonus costume.
Prize (for the winner in each category): TBD + a bronze plate with their respective category symbol.

Other Details:
- Borrowing the most important tournament rule from DBZ: killing the opponent is not allowed.
- Unless OOCly requested, all competitors will be randomized on a chart, shortly before the tournament of course, for all one vs one categories.
- For this tournament, martial arts will be limited to just the martial arts competition and magic limited to the magic competition and so on.
- Point/Judging system will work by who the players decides wins or eventually plays out to be, and the players of the three judges will then each give the winners points based on RNG rolling the numbers between 5 and 10 for a total that can add up to as high as 30 per battle. [Idea from here.] The winners of each respective category then will have all their points tallied at the end to decide the ultimate winner among them.

Another one for marksmanship here! Jane has been practising with her filial magic lately, so she would enter the magic category too.

Well, these guys also have techniques that combine physical moves with magic-- like, say, cloaking their Keyblades in fire and throwing them, an aerial strike followed by a barrage of meteors. You could think of it kinda like using moves from a field of fonons in certain cases, and I'm curious how that would apply.

Keyblades can be used like regular swords, though. Basically, I'm just puzzling over it because with KH kids there are kinda some grey areas with magic/physical disttinctions.

Hmm actually, now that I think about it, I have a few qustions!

Can there be a category that's a COMBO of martial arts + magic? Especially since there are a lot of people in the game who use both. Also, are competitors who fight in pure "martial arts" limited to just using martial arts, or can they use magic too? How will the judging work?

If I can only choose one category though, I'll pick martial arts! :D

Ah, so many questions. But first off I don't know if it'd be a good idea to COMBO it because while there are many people who use both in game, it's at various levels of crazy. However, this tournament hopefully will just be the first round, and COMBO competitions like martial arts and magic could be a second round for the future. So to answer your other question, yes, martial arts will be limited to just using martial arts and magic to magic.

However, Kakashi is free to enter both categories. I'm not limiting that.

And I haven't written it up above yet, but for the most part I'm leaning towards the judging system mostly working by who the players decide wins, and the muns of judges (if it all works out well) giving the winners points based on rng. The winners of each respective category than will have the points tallied to decide the ultimate winner amongst them.
