PORTAL PLOT FINALE.
Hey so after a number of delays and lots of ridiculousness, Bayley and I can finally bring you the conclusion of the portal plot! Aka, the plot that started here and here (and was continued here and here) is finally coming to an end.
There will be a log going up sometime today that will be ICly occurring tomorrow, because Bayley and I could not resist shit going down on the Ides of March.
This log will include all of their close CR (that's been asked to come; feel free to comment here if you're not sure if your character would be included and we'll be sure to let you know), as well as any medical teams Jane may have pinged to be on hand should things go wrong. People who have characters that work in either of the clinics, please do hit me up here and let me know if you'd be interested in taking part!
The log will probably consist of a beforehand mingle/"goodbye" thread, a Shit Going Wrong thread (which will be limited to just Jane, Tony, Loki, and Billy), and an Everyone's Reactions To Shit Going Wrong/Cleanup/MEDICS/ohgodwhy thread, for everyone else's reactions to shit going wrong. (That thread can and most definitely will have multiple subthreads for people to react and talk etc. Actually, so will the mingle thread. Only the Shit Going Wrong thread will be a single solitary thread. So there will be plenty of opportunities for bouncing around, chatting, reacting, freaking out, etc.)
So, of course, the portal won't work. Jane will have convinced Tony to dial in to a coordinate set she provides and they will go together. They'll be gone for about three minutes. In that time, Loki and Billy will both realize something horrible has gone wrong. Jane and Tony will get rebounded and reappear in a broken heap about 20 feet away from where they started. They will be very badly off, but alive. While they're gone, Loki will end up getting taken by a couple of speedy droids before anything much can be done, and he'll be gone before Jane and Tony reappear.
The machine they built will also catastrophically malfunction and break down. It won't do anything as dramatic as explode, though bits of it might melt, spark, and start to smoke. Anyone who cares to will be able to inspect it afterwards.
Jane and Tony will be getting slammed with "penalties" of blindness and muteness, respectively, for four months apiece. Not actually death penalties - they won't have died, and they won't need John to fix their conditions - but like death penalties, as punishment. Loki's kidnapping will result in him returning deaf, to complete the Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil trifecta of awful. Billy will also be affected in having his powers temporarily revoked. (I leave that up to you to detail, Akai. |Db)
Most of the specific details will be in the log itself obvi, so we have something to play out. :B This, however, is the basic gist.
Whether or not there will be announcement to the village that the experiment failed is yet to be determined. We'll likely figure it out over the next day or so. Please do come talk to us if you have a character you think would be involved and would like to do that, though.

ANYWAY thought: I assume Law will probably be taking care of Tony, since Tony has delicate machinery in his chest and law has a defibrillator. Want Mia should be Jane's first responder in the postgame thread on the log?
