Ninja vs. Pirates "Dodgeball"

An event hosted by the SOS-Brigade to happen on November 15th (so next Thursday). More information can be seen here. Sadly most of the discussion about it among brigadiers ended up in a private plurk or two, but relevant information is detailed below!

  • The game is happening on November 15th, in part to coincide with the festival Shichi-Go-San. However, despite this, no actual effort to adhere to the festival's traditions will be practiced other than perhaps any three, five, or seven year olds being given candy. However, it will be put out by the Brigade members on the day of that if either side manages to get a three, five, or seven year old (unisex, again flouncing some parts of tradition) it'll be considered lucky.

  • You do not need to be a pirate or a ninja to participate. You also do not need to necessarily know one of either nor are all pirates or ninja expected to participate per se. Anyone can join in, they simply need to pick a side and stick with it.

  • The game will be played with water balloons that have food coloring in them. Participants will he given white T-shirts and expected to dodge the staining splatter of the other team's water balloons while trying to soak/stain the enemy. This fight can be anywhere in the village (or indeed, anywhere in the enclosure if people want to escalate it) and will (in theory) last much of the day. ...Basically until people get tired.

  • Pirates and Ninja both get a Home Base where they will get the "skins" for the game and an armband which signified which team they are on. Team Pirates are to be based at the Barracks, and their armband will have a jolly roger on it. Team Ninja will be based at the first floor of Community Building 1 and will have armbands with a shuriken on them. A representative of the SOS-Brigade will be manning both of those stations.

  • Balloons, however, will be continually dyed and filled up at a number of "way points" around the village. If people are enterprising they can of course fill up/dye their own balloons, but these will be there for public use and re-arming. Most likely, these points will have Brigade members either at them or periodically checking them, but I'm still not 100% sure which or how many there will be, so don't quote me.

  • Some members of the SOS-Brigade (wearing SOS-Brigade armbands) including Haruhi herself will be refereeing this event. However, there are very few rules: removing, destroying, or replacing your or anyone else's shirt or armband. Special powers are otherwise allowed. There is no switching sides allowed as well, of course. However, if you can do any of these things without being caught, more power to you.

This whole event will happen in a mass log on the 15th. However, before then (either this weekend or early next week) some member of the Brigade will be making an IC announcement that this is happening. Haruhi already implied it here and it is reasonable to assume that next week in the days leading up to it character will see the Brigade setting up stations, collecting supplies (hell, they might have seen this before now), or possibly even putting up fliers or live-action advertising the event. So if you want your characters to know about it, you should have an avenue to do it! Anyone will be able to participate.

I hope people find this fun-sounding and'll enjoy it on the day of!
