Pageant Update

Okay as you (might) know the SOS-Brigade does something for Tanabata (July 7th) every year and this year I'm attaching a beauty pageant to it. As it stands, it's been announced OOCly here and ICly here. It's currently a cross dressing pageant, but I feel this might be limiting volunteers too much ICly! If it is, I plan to have Haruhi backpedal on that idea to make it normal on both sides, or perhaps normal on the guy's side and still crossdressed on the girls side (opposite of the old one)

I'd like to get at least 8-10 on each side, but if that's not possible with it being cross dressing based, I could change that! If it is, all the better. So basically, in this entry I ask you to:

1) Sign your characters up OOCly - it can be assumed they signed themselves up or someone else signed them up as long as they would willingly participate with minor coercing ICly after being signed up. Also related to that if you want to confirm you (?) character on here one way or the other that would be great.

2) Additionally, if you think it would be better served for the pageant to not be crossdressing based speak up, particularly if your character would participate if it wasn't. If there's enough people who think it would be better to drop this component I will.

3) We'll also need 3-5 judges, so if anyone would be drafted into that, particularly from the Brigade or Haruhi's friends (though it could be someone pulled off the street too!) that would be great.

I'll be putting up a new Haruhi entry either ICly reminding people this exist or backpedalling to drop the crossdressing part on the 1st or the 2nd of July depending on what is concluded in this post. So... discuss!!

ETA: We'll need 3 or 5 judges. an odd number.

If I take the original performance into account, she's got stage fright which is a little problematic for someone in a pageant. I also feel that the performance was largely about her breasts getting grabbed and possibly an attempt to pander votes from the male judges.

She's obviously a seasoned performer and was pretty good at putting up with complaints. One of the best. I'm kind of biased against her song choice, but for a pop song it seems like she performed it well enough. I didn't get the crossdresser vibe at all though, more than she was just a girl wearing formal wear.

I think she was one of the only contestants that actually tried to go for the masculine appeal while crossdressing. Her moves were great and it was entertaining to watch and even when I talked to her she tried to still sound manly. I got an actual show and someone who actually understood that crossdressing meant trying to sell the appeal of the opposite gender.

Overall, her performance was interesting to watch and she didn't wear a tuxedo so I can't fault her for that. She seemed to be struggling a little bit toward the end, but she got it. I didn't really see any of herself coming out in the performance though and that's the one thing all of the other contestants had. Her performance was more about the skill than showing a part of herself off to the judges and if I didn't already know her, I wouldn't have known anything about her.

After going over these again I feel like I should grade down all of the girls just because they could apparently only thing of a couple of kinds of outfits when I know that guys wear more than just formal wear and military uniforms. Especially since every single one of these guys has managed to come up with a different outfit.

Frey's dress really worked with his body type! I suspect he was the manliest man there and he still made it work. Yes, the manliest man there-- I was expecting at least a couple of gruff guys to show up, where did you even get these people Haruhi? I wish I'd gotten a performance though.

Looked uncomfortable but kept up the act. Unfortunately, I think anyone who didn't come here with something to show besides looking pretty is suffering in the scores because the people who did are showing them up a lot. Also with his shoulders, he should've tried to cover them. You don't wear spaghetti straps if you've got broad shoulders. It just makes them look bigger. I really liked the dress though.
